From Allah we come to Him we return. MAB mourns the death of a truly great man, Muhammad Ali. A man who aimed for excellence in all of his life, irrespective of how others would have liked to cap or control his ambitions.

He famously said:

“Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they’ve been given than to explore the power they have to change it.”

His spirit was free and yet it was tempered with the softness and kindness of truth.
He said:

“The service you do for others is the rent you pay for your room here on Earth”

He not only fought in the ring against other opponents, he also fought against racism and oppression:

“Hating people because of their color is wrong. And it doesn’t matter which color does the hating”

Famously, he wouldn’t go to war against the Vietnamese. He stood a principled stance, being prepared to go to prison, prepared to lose his title.

A source of inspiration for people, all people. All colours, all religions, all ethnicities.

To honour and respect the passing of such a legendary and iconic Muslim figure, MAB will be praying the prayer of mourning (صلاة الغائب) on him, in his absence in the local venues.
