The Muslim Council of Britain (MCB) held it Nineteenth Annual General Meeting, on Sunday 17th July 2016. During the meeting, the outgoing Secretary General, Dr Shuja Shafi presented the Annual Report and the Treasurer: Mr Navshir Jaffer presented the Accounts.
The AGM also listened to a panel discussion on ‘Islam, Participation and Public Life’.

During this AGM, the delegates elected:
Mr Harun Rashid Khan as the new Secretary General
Dr Omer El-Hamdoon as the new Deputy Secretary General

In addition, a further 28 members were elected to the MCB National Council.

Mr Mohammad Kozbar – MAB Vice President – said:
“I would like to congratulate the newly elected Secretary General and the Deputy Secretary General on their recent success. I hope that under their leadership they will be able to make MCB more relevant to the community, in order to help face up to the challenges ahead.”
